ARCADE SIDEART APPLICATION
SIDEART APPLICATION with JIM FAIRCHILD

Bet you thought this procedure would be done with the cabinet laying down!
But it's NOT... well, it can be, but since we're not going all the way to the GROUND on this sticker, it actually works better here with the cabinet upright.

The sideart sticker is first carefully aligned tacked to the (cleaned) surface to be covered, using masking tape.

It is then rolled upwards to the tacked edge. The backing is peeled away carefully from the top edge, and the sticker is carefully stuck to the cabinet along the top.

Using a short flat squeegie blade covered in a tshirt, the artwork is carefully smoothed out in a side to side motion, working downward.
The rolled part of the sticker is held firmly but not stretched.

If the artworks skews and/or wrinkles, it's carefully pulled away from the side and smoothed back into place.
Patience is a virtue here.

Smoothing the artwork carefully across, we proceed all the way down the cabinet.
The bottom and top are the hardest parts to get right.

Once the entire piece is applied, an exacto blade is used to pop little bubbles, which are then smoothed down. Heat will take care of the rest of the process.
In extreme cases, a heat gun will pull out deeper wrinkles, but that's not necessary on this cabinet.

The final results are beautiful!

...and just look at that control panel!!! WOW.
